I hail from a part of the country where people automatically pull the lever for Republicans (down there, they still use levered voting machines) without so much as a thought. Or if they do have a thought, it's, "I don't want them damn gays getting married."
I still don't get how the GOP can, election after election, manage to get people to the polls to vote against their own best interests.

It's the truth though. The 'rents and grand'rents will likely vote for McCain. Just because.
