If I give you another $12.43, can you go to the race track and parlay it into nothing for me?
This seriously looks like the most organized wine tasting I've ever seen. I'm not sure how I feel about a wine competition. It's just an exhibition not a competition. Please, no wagering. People just go to those things because they want to see a bottle of wine break.
t2ed- It's not so much a competition as it is a drunken free for all. At the beginning, people "sample" the some 200 bottles with the brown bags over them (for the sake of fairness and all). By the end, people are pouring full glasses of whatever crap is left on the table. Great meet and greet. Great place to see and be seen. Great place to be seen. I'll try and post some pics (or link to pics) if I'm in any of 'em...
t2ed, are you a gambling man? I am a bit lucky when it comes to the ponies...
Nat- You ARE rich. If only we pooled our money and spent it on some Mad Dog. We'd be some pretty cheap dates..
I used to live near Vegas so I learned a long time ago that there are very few winners.
Other than being able to walk up and down the sports books and being able to take advantage of disparities in the sports lines and the house of course.
That being said, I do every now and then hearken to the call of tumbling dice. Worthless at everything else.
I have wanted to get in on those Bacchanalian Society tasting nights for a while now but don't know when they take place! Now I am finally on the list. Thanks for the link. And you are right, there are some anti-Kentucky people on this side of the river.

Nat - OMG. I saw your comment on Mama Likey.
My olfactory senses and pride hurt for you...
I must hear the details.
