I made some sweet tea yesterday. Set my jar out in the sun all day long for "Sun Brewed Tea" (Used a spicy Good Earth tea, my favorite) and then sweetened it with Splenda.
More proof I am a Southern Belle trapped in a Yankee Bitch's body.
Oh, how I love the Splenda. I will probably grow a third arm from my consumption of such a substance, but oh well, I'm sure a third arm could be put to good use (especially when I open that massage parlor).
mizchelle, I don't think it tastes different, it's just easier.
r(k) I know, I know. I am totally taking this Sun Tea to the 21st century (or at least the whole foods route).
natalie, thanks for the vote of confidence. I am in love with Splenda, but I think I might love my Good Earth tea even more.
Micah, next time you come down to visit, we'll eat Splenda by the bowl full. And yes, Chick-Fil-A makes a mighty fine tea.
Hasselback: Listen, my Yankee rearing has done a number on my Southerner-by-birth status! You think my Mama ever tought me how to make sweet tea? J/K.

"does it really taste that different?"
It does if you make it like she said- a spicy good earth tea and splenda.
Shame on you Kate! Sun tea is supposed to be made with more bags of Lipton than necessary and 4 or 5 or 6 cups of sugar.
Don't listen to 'em. Literally everything can kill you. Go on with your bad Splenda-consumin' self.
I'm sure your tea is better than Chick-Fil-A's sweet tea (the only sweet tea available here in Ahia, but damn good).
Woof, I think they'll lock you up in Dixie for putting Splenda in something called "spicy good earth tea" and callin it sweet tea.
It does sound good though. Just don't tell any of my NC relatives.
